TWO PEOPLE. Every single floor.

We have no employees. Jon started Quality Epoxy in 1998 and Monica joined him in 2016, and the two of us still grind, coat and finish every floor ourselves. It makes us the longest running private owner operator concrete floor coating company in Arizona. It is also why we take no deposit. You pay after the job is finished and you are happy with it.

JON AND MONICA. That's the whole company.

Jon grew up in Altadena, California, working on his father's commercial fishing boat in Alaska. He spent twenty years as a deckhand in the Bering Sea salmon fishery, then worked the ramp for America West Airlines. Work brought him to Phoenix in 1989 and he stayed.

A friend asked him to help paint a garage floor with ordinary house paint. It came out fine, but Jon thought it could be done properly, so he read everything he could find and taught himself. He started with two part epoxy kits from the hardware store, moved up to Arizona Polymer Flooring, and started Quality Epoxy in 1998.

Monica left her job as a dental assistant in 2016 to work alongside him. There is no crew and no subcontractor. When you book a floor, the two people in this photo are the two people who show up.

WHAT WE COAT

  1. Garage Floors

Full polyaspartic with 1″ flake, ground into the slab and finished in a day. Patios too, if you want the outside to match. Fifteen blends, and a lifetime warranty on adhesion for as long as you own the house.

  2. Restaurant Floors

Kitchens and dining rooms in a coating that shrugs off chemicals, cleans up with a mop, and is UVR protected so it will never turn yellow.

  3. Business Floors

Showrooms, shops and salons get the same 10 to 30 mils at 80%+ solids we put in a home garage. Commercial work carries a two year warranty.

  4. Aircraft Hangars

Hangar slabs coated on site. CoatingsPro Magazine ran one of ours under the headline "Hangar Floor Soars to New Heights."

THE HANGAR JOB the industry wrote about.

Same process as a Gilbert garage, on a slab the size of an aircraft hangar. Diamond grind the concrete, build the polyaspartic, broadcast the 1″ flake by hand, then roll the top coat before the light goes.

  • Mechanical diamond grinding for the bond profile, never an acid etch
  • 10 to 30 mils of coating at 80%+ solids, start to finish
  • Installed within 24 hours on site, fully cured in 72
  • Written up in CoatingsPro Magazine, "Hangar Floor Soars to New Heights"

WHAT HOMEOWNERS ASK

Do you grind the floor, or acid etch it?

We grind. Every slab gets mechanical diamond grinding to open the concrete and create a bonding profile for the coating. We do not acid etch.

Why polyaspartic instead of epoxy?

Our coating is 100% UVR protected and chemically resistant, so your floor will never turn yellow. Polyaspartic also cures fast enough that you can walk and drive on it sooner than you can on an epoxy floor.

How long will my garage be out of use?

The installation is finished within 24 hours on site. Full cure and turnaround is 72 hours.

What is the warranty?

On a home, a lifetime warranty on adhesion for as long as you own the house. On commercial work, a two year warranty.

How much do you need up front?

Nothing. We are the only company we know of that does not require a deposit. Payment is due only after the job is finished and you are happy with it.

Is this the same as a garage floor kit from the hardware store?

No. A store bought kit is roughly 3 mils thick at about 30% solids. We apply professional grade coating at 10 to 30 mils with 80% or better solids content.

Will grinding fill my house with dust?

We grind with the vacuum running, but we will not promise you a completely dust free job site. That is the honest answer, and it is the one on our own FAQ page too.

What colors can I have?

Fifteen 1″ flake blends: Baby Blue, Brownstone, Coyote, Dolphine, Galaxy, Glacier Smoke, Greystone, Iceberg, Neon Green, Polar, Purple Rain, Raven, Sky Blue, Stinger and Tuxedo. Glow in the dark flake in green or blue is an extra $2 a square foot.

Do you still do metallic epoxy floors?

No, and we will talk you out of one. Metallic needs a 100% solid epoxy that is not UVR protected and scratches very easily, and outgassing was a nightmare on every single installation. Polyaspartic flake keeps its shine and still looks new years later.

How do I look after it, and how do I pay?

Mop it when it is dirty. That is the whole maintenance list. For payment we take cash, Zelle, checks and credit cards, once the job is finished.

Where do you work?

Ahwatukee, Apache Junction, Chandler, Gilbert, Gold Canyon, Mesa, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley and Tempe.
